Pikes Peak from Castle Rock
Named for the large "castle" shaped rock, Castle Rock is situated in the Plum Creek Valley, about midway between Denver and Colorado Springs. The town was incorporated over 100 years ago in 1881. At an elevation of 6,202 above sea level and 900 feet above Denver, the climate is slightly cooler in the summertime and relatively the same as Denver in wintertime.

Douglas County has become the fastest growing county in the state. Wide-open spaces provide plenty of room for families to grow and horses to run. Drive down Wilcox Street in Castle Rock and feel the small town atmosphere and rural lifestyle. Castle Rock, with its rural charm and pleasant, friendly people, also has excellent schools.

Castle Rock
The Castle Rock Factory Shops, consisting of more than one hundred stores, features the nation's best names in fashion, accessories and housewares. Conveniently located on I-25 at Founders Parkway, the shops attract buyers from both Denver and Colorado Springs.

Large tracts of land have been set aside for parks and trails and the city has a full-service recreational facility. Just eight miles to the west, covering the western third of Douglas County, is Pike National Forest featuring magnificent canyons, hiking, camping, picnic areas, and trout fishing. From its origins as a 100-acre town site, Castle Rock has capitalized on its ideal location, well-educated labor force, abundant housing, and natural beauty to become one of the fastest growing areas in the country. Through its aggressive expansion plans, the city is assured of maintaining this growth pattern, while preserving its charm, well into the next century.

Castle Rock Neighborhood
For the golf enthusiast, the area offers three membership golf clubs and a public course. The Plum Creek Golf and Country Club is one of the finest Pete Dye courses in the country. North of Castle Rock is the community of Castle Pines, the home of the annual PGA International Tournament, with its unusual scoring system. The course, designed by Jack Nicklaus, is not only challenging but breathtakingly beautiful. It is surrounded by custom built homes with prices of $500,000 and up.

Castle Rock has many new covenant controlled home developments that showcase exciting new homes and townhomes in all price ranges and styles, as well as small acreage homesites.
