The first stage service in Parker was the Butterfield Overland Dispatch Express and Freight Line (circa 1865). It became part of Wells Fargo after being purchased by Holladay.
Douglas County Public Schools serve families living in Butterfield at Iron Horse, Mountain View, and Northeast Elementary schools, Sagewood Middle School, and Ponderosa High School. Douglas County offers open enrollment and school choice.
From Denver, take Interstate 25 South and E-470 to Parker Road/Highway 83. Take Exit 5 from E-470N. Follow Highway 83/S. Parker Road and Hilltop Road. Turn right on N. Sunrise Trail.
