Gallop Right On In to Morrison Real Estate
By Coloradohorseproperty.com
It's just like in the old westerns! You're galloping through the foothills of the Front Range right along Main Street (Bear Creek Avenue, that is) through horse real estate in Morrison, Colorado. Or you might be cruising in on your bike for a bite of Italian or European cuisine, a spot of coffee or a milkshake.
Jefferson County is an equestrian bonanza. Just about every house for sale in Morrison can be adapted for your loyal equine creature. Morrison properties for sale may be nestled along Bear Creek Canyon near the marvels of the red-rock geological formation or near a well-groomed Colorado golf course only 15 miles from the Denver city lights. Choose from handsome ranches in Morrison, mountain cabins with horse facilities, exquisite executive homes for sale near Morrison or a simple Morrison rancher with nearby corrals.
Founded by George Morrison, who built the popular Cliff House Lodge and Cottages, the town is a social hub for skiers, hikers, bikers and riders. Many make their way to The Fort, an historically accurate, landmark restaurant started by Sam Arnold. Mr. Arnold developed his menu (including the likes of buffalo, cougar, tongue, duck, plover and crane) by scouring the journals of trappers and traders who traveled along the Santa Fe Trail 150 years ago. Visitors also enjoy the Natural History and Heritage Museums in town and the Indian singers at the annual powwow.
Extensive trail systems and mountain parks entice folks from around the city who are yearning to hear waterfalls splashing, crickets and birds chirping, or simply the sound of the gentle breezes. Civilization can call again, however, as you pass through Thunder Mountain and hear the thunderous racing events at the Bandimere Speedway!
The area is home to some very important dinosaur discoveries in the American West and some people like to investigate the Stegosaurus and Apatosaurus tracks at Dinosaur Ridge. Keep truckin' and you'll find more modern wildlife in parks such as Lair o' the Bear, O'Fallon, Little, Corwina and Mount Falcon. The Red Rock Amphitheater is a geologically formed, open-air "structure" well-known for its natural acoustics. The Beatles, Easter-morning sunrise services and commencement exercises have frequently filled the 10,000 seats.
Hospitality and tourism keep the town busy in this National Register Historic District. But many residents enjoy the short commute to the metropolitan business corridor. The top-rated local Jeffco Public Schools here continue to outperform the state on every test in every grade level. And there are several colleges and universities in nearby communities.
If you are driving a vehicle, you will find this friendly, small town of 430 residents via C-470. But jump onto your horse and you can approach from any direction. Always be sure to tip your hat to the Sheriff!
