Classy Community at Denver Polo Club
By Coloradohorseproperty.com
Adjacent to Chatfield State Park and the Highline Canal, the Cottonwood Riding Club is home to the Denver Polo Club and its friendly atmosphere. The Club has recently announced the development of three new polo fields located just south of Denver in Sedalia in a wonderful valley surrounded by 100-year-old Cottonwood trees. With Plum Creek bordering on the east, a wildflower- and oak-laden cliff to the west and terrific views of the foothills, your horse will be dancing during time off.
Many live near the original Cherry Creek area, some in the historically renowned Polo Club that hosted Denver’s polo-playing elite. In present times, Denver condos, Denver patio homes, and estate homes here in Littleton are beautifully set along several polo fields and stables. Numerous horse properties a short distance further, especially in Sedalia, provide more acreage and yet proximity to the new facilities.
Formed and nurtured by the John Gandomcar family, instilled with family values and a generous spirit, the cordial club members enjoy creating memorable events and traditions for the players, families, sponsors, spectators, members—and just about anyone who touches the 160 acres of splendid facilities.
The Club sits on Roxborough Park Road in Littleton on 160 acres, offering a large lighted indoor arena, four large outdoor arenas, a cross-country course, a conditioning track, an outdoor jumping area, paddocks, stalls, nearby fields, a pro shop and a clubhouse. There are lessons for all levels of players as well as newcomers without any experience at all.
Add to that the extraordinary horseback ride through miles of wooded trails in Chatfield State Park, and every one of your polo-loving ponies, jumpers and hunt horses will smile a peaceful goodnight.
The Club activities include international polo charity fundraisers, the Annual Kick-Off Party, Dress for the Cure of cancer with players from around the world, The Invitational, Chicks with Sticks, and many other well-planned community events that keep people in the right spirit of things.
The gracious hospitality and warm feeling of camaraderie give perspective to the competition of polo. With a touch of sophistication and elegance, this sport has class.
