The Front Range town of Sedalia, Colorado, twenty-nine miles south of Denver near Colorado 67, is an historic crossroads community perfect for horse lovers and former city folk.

Whether you like to rope, ride, show or simply escape, Sedalia's stately homes for sale on ranches, farm houses for sale in this Denver area, moderately-priced ranchettes for sale around Sedalia and even condos for sale in Sedalia near equestrian facilities will satisfy your need to saddle up.

While new communities are being developed on either side of Sedalia, this tiny community has managed to keep many of its quaint qualities.  Numerous older buildings and historic homes have been maintained and a few craft shops and restaurants are all within walking distance of the heart of town.  In fact, many a biker may be seen pedalling through town to refresh at the corner bar.

This is Colorado—synonymous with an active lifestyle and eternal youth.  Outdoor adventure abounds with spectacular fly-fishing along the South Platte River, camping facilities that offer fresh air and superb choices of hiking and biking trails throughout the Rampart Range in Pike National Forest west of town.

Families will appreciate the acclaimed Douglas County Schools.  They use a variety of educational approaches, including offering parents a choice between open enrollment, charter schools and special programs.  There are also private schools available in the county.  There are several universities within a 30-mile radius, such as the Colorado School of Mines, the United States Air Force Academy and the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.

Even with all of that education, though, the only way to really learn to ride is to experience firsthand the grace, agility, freedom and discipline it takes to bring out the best in your Appaloosa, Palomino, Arabian, Roan, Clydesdale or even your little Lipizzan.
